Pilates with a Physical Therapist!

Bridging the gap between Physical Therapy and Pilates

Wouldn’t it be great to work with someone who has expert knowledge of your injury and functional limitations? Are you having trouble finding someone as skilled and experienced as your physical therapist to guide you from injury to something fun and healthy, like Pilates?

Problem solved!

Once discharged from physical/occupational therapy, set-up a meeting with Dr. Carly Catanese for a 1:1 Pilates session. This beginners session will focus on learning the fundamentals of Pilates including improving your body awareness, strength, and flexibility.

The 1st session will include a consultation about your health and fitness goals. There will be a brief introduction to mat pilates, emphasizing the 5 basic principles of pilates. These principles are breathing, pelvic placement, rib cage placement, scapular movement / stabilization, and head/cervical placement.

It is important for the 1st session to discuss your physical history in order to tailor a program that meets your individual needs, therefore time can be maximized in following appointments to work on gaining strength and awareness.
